RETRACTABLE SAFETY POSTS FOR SMART ROAD SEGREGATION

Abstract

The present invention is developed in the field of highway engineering and traffic safety, and relates to retractable safety bollards for intelligent road segregation. The technical problem addressed is the frequent deterioration of conventional segregation bollards, used in cycle lanes and protected lanes, due to the encroachment or excessive proximity of motorized vehicles, which generates high maintenance costs and risks for vulnerable users. The invention proposes a system of retractable bollards equipped with vehicle proximity sensors and an automatic retraction mechanism, whose electronic and drive components are housed in a protected underground enclosure. In this way, the bollard retracts preventively upon the approach of a vehicle and automatically retracts once the risk condition has passed.The invention is applicable in urban infrastructure, bike lanes, exclusive lanes and protected transit zones, contributing to safer, more durable and smarter road segregation.
