Abstract
The present invention describes an innovative and efficient process for obtaining Macrocystis pyrifera plantlets with improved characteristics, such as greater leaf capacity, accelerated growth, and thermal resistance up to 24°C. The process consists of nine key steps, including leaflet preparation, stress induction, the use of wave motion, and modification of the Provasoli medium. These techniques allow for obtaining robust plantlets with a minimum of 12 leaflets per individual, ideal for cultivation in warm areas affected by climate change. This method has applications in aquaculture centers for the mass production of plantlets, in marine restocking projects, and in carbon sequestration initiatives, thanks to the ability of brown algae to efficiently fix carbon dioxide.Furthermore, the process stands out for its adaptability and effectiveness, positioning itself as a key tool for sustainability in marine biotechnology and the restoration of coastal ecosystems.
