HYDRAULIC FLUID FILTER WITH INTEGRATED BYPASS

Abstract

This description describes a filter element (102) for hydraulic fluid comprising a first filter component (120) having a first filter size and a second filter component (134) having a second filter size. The first filter component (120) may be disposed within a housing (122) to filter the hydraulic fluid between an inlet (138) and an outlet (140) of the filter element (102). The second filter component (134) may include a screen, mesh, or other filtering medium with the second filter size (e.g., screen size) larger than the first filter size. The second filter component (134) may include a screen for a bypass valve (136). The bypass valve (136) may be integrated within the filter element (102) and provide a second outlet (112) through the filter element (102).The outlet (140) and the second outlet (112) of the filter element (102) can be rejoined downstream of the bypass valve (136) to provide a single outlet flow vector (106) from a filtration system.
