Abstract

The present invention describes compounds of formula (I) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) comprising a compound of formula (I), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, as a payload are also described. Methods for treating disorders such as cancer, tumors, or other malignant neoplasms are also described. The compound is of formula (X) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein: X is O or NH; Z is N-C1-6 alkyl or NH; ring A is a phenyl or 6-membered heteroaryl; ring B is a phenyl or 6-membered heteroaryl; R1 is an alkyne or phenyl, wherein the phenyl is unsubstituted or substituted with 1 to 3 independently selected halos; R2 is alkyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, or R2a(OR2a)p-; and p and q are independently integers from 1 to 8. R3 is -NH2, -NHR3a, -N(R3a)2 or -N+(R3a)3.
