Abstract

The present invention is geared towards the treatment of diseases affecting agricultural crops, particularly coffee and other products. The amino acid tryptophan has been chemically modified at its terminal amino group by the incorporation of a benzenesulfonyl group, resulting in a derivative that can be formulated in various agricultural presentations. Due to its low molecular weight and suitable polarity, the compound facilitates its interaction with fungal cellular components. Furthermore, its physicochemical properties allow for adequate distribution in plant tissues and reduce unwanted persistence in the environment.
