AI Technical Summary
Conventional gang disc plows for hand tractors are inflexible, as they cannot be adjusted for varying soil conditions and are not easily stackable or cost-effectively manufactured locally.
The design includes adjustable depth control and plow discs, an elevated towing frame with detachable arms for ease of stacking, and mechanisms for rotating and connecting disc plows, allowing for adaptable use and local cost-effective manufacturing.
The improved gang disc plow provides flexibility in soil engagement and ease of use, enabling effective operation on different soil conditions while being cost-efficient and convenient for storage and transportation.
Description
IMPROVED GANG DISC PLOW FOR HAND TRACTORS '3BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates in general to agricultural devices and more specifically to an improved gang disc plow for hand tractors.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONConventional gang disc plows nowadays are fixed on their cutting position and could not be adjusted so that they could be used more effectively on different kinds or conditions of the soil.A need therefore exist to modify the existing conventional gang disc plows by providing a means for easily adjusting the depth control disc as well as the other plow disc.Still another object of the subject invention is to provide the elevated towing frame with detachably held arms thereby providing ease and convenience for stacking purposes.Another object of the subject invention is to provide for an improved gang disc plow for hand tractors that could be manufactured locally at a reasonable cost.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGSThe invention will be more fully understood with reference to the accompanying drawings illustrating the preferred embodiment of the subject invention and in which:FIGURE 1 is a perspective view of an improved gang disc plow for a hand tractor in a preferred embodiment of the subject invention;FIGURE 2 is an exploded view;FIGURE 3 is an isolated perspective view of the assembly of the disc plow; andFIGURE 4 is an isolated perspective view of connecting one of the rotatable members 50 with respect to the post 17.DETAILED DESCRIPTION ACCORDING TO THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTReferring now to the drawings in detail wherein like numerals designate same parts throughout, there is shown the embodiment of my invention generally designated as 10, which includes and elevated towing frame 11 having a forwardly extending offset front portion 12 having a hitch member 13 at one end thereon. A rearwardly extending portion 14 and a transverse portion 15. A plurality of spacedly disposed upstanding sleeves16 secured to said frame 11, a disc plow post 17 secured to each of said sleeves 16. A plurality of disc plows 18 each secured to the other end of said disc plow post and having scraper blades 19 thereon. A control disc assembly 20 mounted on one of said plow disc 18. A means 21 for rotating said post 17 connected to one of said plow disc 18.The improyement of the embodiment of the subject invention hereto disclosed is the provision of means 22 for adjusting and detachably connecting said disc plow 18. An additional means 23 for rotating one of the disc plow post 18 of said towing frame 11. And also means for removably connecting the arms 24 of said frame body which includes transversely opposed plate members 60 secured by nuts and bolts thereon..As shown in Fig. 2, the assembly of the disc plow 18 with respect to the disc plow post 17, includes a base member 25, a washer 26, an o-ring 27, coupling 28, a locking member 29, a pin 30 and a cover 31 which are all detachably connected to one end of said base member 25. The other end of said base member 25 is also detachably connected to a washer 32, a coupling 33 and an O-ring 34, a hub 35 having a threaded end, which is adapted to threadedly fit to said disc flow 18. And said disc plow 18 is removably held to said hub 35 by means of bolt 36 and nut 37.One end of an arcuated scraper arm 38 is fixedly secured to an extended plate 39. Said extended plate 39 having slots proximate its ends, is adapted to corresponding apertures of the scraper blade 19 through bolts 40 and nuts 41. The other end of said scraper arm 38 is secured to said base member 25. A reduced elongated member 42 has one end secured also to said base member 25. Said reduced elongated member 42 is adapted to be removably held inside a broader hollow elongated member 43 by means of bolts 44 and embedded corresponding nuts 45.The sleeve 16 has a cover 46 and secured to said frame body by means of a washer 47 and bolt 48.The additional means 23 for rotating one of the disc plow post 17 includes a crank 49, a rotatable member 50 secured to said frame body 11 and in communication with said crank 49, and a brace member 51 secured to said crank 49 and to said post 17. Said rotatable member 50 comprising a bracket channel member 52, a swingable member 53, pivotably held to a base member 54. One of the end of said swingable member 53 is removably held to one end of said channel member 52 by means of a washer 55, nut 56 and bolt 57 passing through their respective apertures 58 and 59.103 APR-3 A9:13FIG. 1InventorS'FIG. 2InventorFELIPE F.
