Abstract

The invention relates to a device for brewing beverages comprising a container (10) including an opening (10a) for receiving a beverage material; a liquid passageway (10b) formed on the container and adapted to allow liquid to enter and exit the container; a pressing means (12) adapted to fit into the container (10) and to press the beverage material against the container; a guiding segment (11) adapted to guide the pressing means (12) into and out of the container (10); and a driving segment (13) adapted to move along the guiding means (11) and drive the pressing means into and out of the container (10), characterized by a retaining means (12b) provided on the presser edge (12a) of the pressing means (12) and adapted to attach to the container (10) through friction such that the position of the pressing means in the container is retained. The invention, likewise, relates to the process used in making the device.
