[Problem] A planting machine and a work vehicle that are less likely to cause poor germination are provided. [Solution] A planting machine includes a furrow opening section, a dropping section, a soil covering section, and a compacting roller 6. The furrow opening section forms a furrow G1 in the field F1. The dropping section drops a planting object X1 into the furrow G1. The soil covering section covers the planting object X1 in the furrow G1 with soil. The compacting roller 6 rolls in the furrow G1 to compact the covered soil G15. The compacting roller 6 has a pressed surface 601 that is pressed against the inside surface G14 of the furrow G1 outward in the width direction of the furrow G1.
