Abstract

The present utility model relates to a method of producing essential oil from ylangylang (Cananga odorata) using a solvent-free microwave extraction (SFME) technique. Conventional extraction methods generally require prolonged extraction times, high energy consumption, and large amounts of water, resulting in the thermal degradation of heat-sensitive volatile compounds and increased environmental burden. The disclosed method addresses these limitations by employing defined material-to-liquid ratios during soaking to enhance in situ water and controlled microwave irradiation conditions to facilitate rapid and efficient solvent-free extraction of ylangylang essential oil. The method reduces extraction time and energy consumption while ensuring high recovery of heat-sensitive volatile bioactive compounds. The utility model is useful for the efficient production of highquality ylang-ylang essential oil for cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and fragrance applications.
