Abstract
The present utility model provides a sustainable vermicomposting process that addresses agricultural waste management and soil fertility enhancement. This process involves preparing decomposing raw materials, assembling a compost bin, piling into the bin in a ratio of 1:2:2.4 parts of banana bracts, carabao manure, and leaf litters, respectively, watering the pile, introducing African night crawlers (Eudrilus eugeniae) to one side of the bin, covering with a net to protect the worms from predators, watering the bin daily to maintain moisture for a week before harvest, placing a net wit decaying food on top of the bin two days prior, attracting the worms to the surface, sieving to separate the pure vermicast from other materials, and packing into sacks lined with plastic. It utilizes biodegradable materials such as leaf litters, carabao manure, and banana bracts to produce highquality organic fertilizer, promoting nutrient recycling and reducing environmental impact.
