Abstract

The present utility model relates to a bioceramic material specifically a porous biphasic calcium phosphate implant such as an artificial orbital or plate with antibacterial properties. The material comprises a porous polymeric sponge material, an antibacterial coating comprises a nano-zinc oxide concentration of 0.10 - 0.75 M and a bioceramic slurry. The bioceramic slurry has specified components comprises 5-25% by weight of an inorganic binder, 2-10% by weight of an organic binder, 5-10% by weight of a deflocculant comprising aqueous sodium silicate, and water. The material of the present utility model is used as an implant to replace damaged eye orbitals or bone structures beneath the eyes of the human beings.
