Method for preparing a spiked matrix reference material from mollusk tissue

Abstract

The present utility model relates to a method for preparing a spiked matrix reference material (RM) for use in validation of analytical methods, and proficiency testing schemes used in monitoring heavy metal contaminants in a mollusk tissue, the method comprising the steps of, obtaining a mollusk tissue, drying the mollusk tissue to produce a dried tissue, pulverizing the dried tissue to obtain a tissue powder, homogenizing the tissue powder, and spiking the homogenized tissue powder heavy metals, to achieve a target mass fraction, thereby forming the spiked matrix RM. The present utility model aims to solve the problem of unreliable analytics results driven by the difficulty in method validation and quality assurance of testing facilities within the country, by providing a method for matrix reference materials for mussels.
