Abstract

This utility model discloses a smart bed alarm system designed to mitigate sleep inertia through an integrated, behavior-responsive approach. The system comprises a pressure sensor embedded in the bed, an embedded microcontroller, and a multistage alarm module generating sound, vibration, and light stimuli. A mobile application and cloud-based storage enable user-defined alarm settings and sleep data management via an Internet of Things (IoT) network. Upon detection of user [57] presence at the set alarm time, the system initiates a multi-stage alarm sequence srac : that escalates when continued bed occupancy is detected and automatically restarts if the user remains in bed or fails to deactivate the alarm. Unlike conventional alarm systems that rely on passive user response, the present system employs real-time detection and feedback control to enforce wakefulness. Experimental results indicate improved wake-up quality, reduced grogginess, and more consistent sleep patterns, demonstrating its effectiveness as a practical solution for enhancing user well-being and daily productivity.
