Trailer-mounted photovoltaic irrigation system

Abstract

A trailer-mounted photovoltaic irrigation system is disclosed for off-grid agricultural irrigation, particularly for use in small farm holdings. The system comprises a trailer assembly supporting a photovoltaic panel structure and a pump assembly integrated as a single transportable unit. The photovoltaic panel structure supplies electrical power to a solar-powered water pump having a rated output of not less than two horsepower, selected to meet irrigation requirements of small-scale agricultural plots while remaining compatible with the power output of a mobile photovoltaic source. The trailer assembly includes a hitch arrangement adapted for towing by two-wheel and four-wheel tractors, enabling relocation between agricultural plots and shared use. The photovoltaic panel structure can be transformed between a compact transport configuration and an operating configuration through sliding and tilting members for field deployment. The system operates independently of grid electricity and fossil fuels.
