A process for conjugation of PNAG to a carrier protein

Abstract

The present application describes a process for conjugating a PNAG poly-N-acelyted glucosarine which is less than 40% N-acetylated to a carrier protein comprising the steps of a) activating the PNAG by adding a linker comprising a maleimide group to form an activated PNAG b) activating the carrier protein by adding a linker comprising a sulphydryl group to form an activated carrier protein and c) reacting the activated PNAG and the activated carrier protein to form a PNAG-carrier protein conjugate.
