A process of preparation of biopesticide from Photorhabdus luminescens against Galleria mellonella larvae and subteranean termite (Termitidae: Macrotermis)

Abstract

This invention relates to a process for preparation of biopesticide, comprising steps, addition of 500ml culture of Photorhabdus luminescens in broth and water at the ratio of 4x104 cells / ml, autoclaved at 1210 C and 15 psi (pounds per square inch) pressure for 15 min, also addition of 1-5ml Tween 80 as an emulsifier, placed in a shaking water bath at 80-100 rpm for 24 hour. Cell free broth suspension and bacterial residue were centrifuged with 2% Tween 80 at 14000rpm for 5 min. Supernatant and residue were obtained and also used as a biopesticide. All above mentioned types of biopepticides were applied on Galleria mellonella larvae and Macrotermis(subterranean termite).
