Abstract

A pharmaceutically acceptable salt of a compound having glucokinase activating effects and being useful as treatment for diabetes, which is represented by the following formula (I) Wherein X1 represents oxygen; X2 represents oxygen; Ring A represents phenyl or pyridyl; R1 represents 1 or 2 substituents present on Ring A selected from C1-6alkylsulfonyl, C1-6alkylanoyl, halogen atoms and hydroxyl C1-6alkyl; R2 represents a straight chain or branched C1-6alkyl or C2-6alkenyl group having 1 or 2 substituents selected from the group consisting of halogen atoms, carboxyl, C1-6alkoxycarbonyl, hydroxyl, amino (where the amino may be further substituted with 1 or 2 C1-6alkenyl or C1-6alkyl groups), C1-6alkoxy and N-(C1-6alkyl)carbamoyl; Ring B represents thiazolyl, thiadiazolyl, isoxazolyl, pyridothiazolyl, or pyrazolyl in which the carbon atom of Ring B which is bonded to the nitrogen atom of the amide group of formula (I) a C=N bond within Ring B; and R3 represents an optional C1-6alkyl or hydroxyC1-6alkyl substituent on Ring B.
