A Process for Preparation of Iron Sorbitol Dextrin and Citric acid Supplement for Diabetic Person

Abstract

A process for preparation of a nutritional Iron Sorbitol Dextrin and citric acid supplement for diabetic person has been developed, which comprises on two parts (a) complex formation which contains Iron in the form of ferric hydroxide, sorbitol, dextin, sodium hydroxide and citric acid. Best stable complex was formed when heated at 120-125C for 5 hours. pH of the complex is 7.5.1so electric point is 2.5 -3.5 (b) syrup formation, which comprises reacting aqueous solution of sorbitol, citric acid carboxymethyl cellose, vitamin C, (10mg / m1) colour flavour and above complex of Iron Sorbitol Dextrin (Fe,1 mg / ml.). All the ingredients were stirred constantly for 7 hours. A tasty, homogenous, transparent reddish brown syrup was formed, which has a pH 6.8, its shelf life has been studies for 2.years
