Computer implemented structured observation-record processing system and process for generating domain-scored learning-difficulty profile records

Abstract

A computer-implemented structured observation-record processing system and process are disclosed. A computer-implemented system and method for screening children aged 6.0-10.11 years for learning and developmental difficulties are disclosed. The system comprises a database storing an item-map of 40 behaviorally anchored items mapped to 8 domains: Cognitive, Behavioral, Social, Emotional, Speech, Language, Motor, and Physical, with 5 items per domain and 10 reverse-scored items. A user interface receives 4-point frequency ratings after a 4-week observation period: 0=Never, 1=Rarely, 2=0ften / Sometimes, 3=Always / Almost Always. A scoring engine validates the record, applies reverse scoring 0-3, 1-2 to the 10 reverse items, computes 8 domain scores 0-15 and a total score 0-120, and flags domains with >1 missing item as invalid. An interpretation module applies cutoff rules and designates the 2 lowest domain scores as priority intervention domains, and flags any domain score 0-3 as urgent. A report module generates a one-page graphical profile with domain scores, priority domains, strengths, and intervention strategies. A progress monitoring module compares a first and a second score set collected 8-12 weeks later to generate longitudinal change data. The item content is culturally grounded for Pakistani primary classrooms.
