Abstract
A process for dyeing wool and polyamide 6.6 in feldspar and light salmon hues, respectively, by warming the fabric at 90C in an aqueous solution of a product obtained from the roots of Ficus benhalensis, wherein fabric to dyeing solution ratio is 1:10 and weight of the powder for one gram fabric is 0.25g (25% shade on the weight of fabric). Dyed fabrics were evaluated to determine the fixation of powder obtained from the roots of Ficus benghalensis on textile fabrics and various color parameters. Fastness properties such as fastness to wash, fastness to light, fastness to dry crocking and fastness to wet crocking were also determined using standard procedures.
