Abstract

Storage device architecture of high performance hybrid solid state disk defines a storage system which incorporates Magnetoresistive Random Access Memory (MRAM) array as an internal cache on top of Flash memory arranged in multidimensional array to address fast access times and high storage capacity. Cache policies will be hard-coded inside storage device to maximize the performance. Storage system will utilize non-conventional Input / Output interfaces in order to utilize high performance even in low end computers. Such architecture introduces parallel read / write to all Flash and MRAM arrays and is termed as Hybrid Solid State Disk (HSSD). MRAM being non-volatile storage in the memory array system eliminates the need of constant voltage supply and serves as the cache for the storage system. The present disclosure relates to Flash and MRAM based Solid State Disk architecture.
