Corner connector for fire-resistant glass spacer frame

Abstract

A corner connector (1) for a fire-resistant glass spacer frame is disclosed. The connector (1) comprises two perpendicularly extending arms (21, 22) that are inserted into spacer frame profiles. The arms (21, 22) are connected by a corner element (5). Each arm (21, 22) has a front surface (6), a rear surface, and a beveled end edge (9), while the corner element (5) comprises a front side (11), a rear side with a first and a second wall perpendicular to each other, and a first end side (141) and a second end side (142), from which the arms (21, 22) of the connector extend. Furthermore, the corner element (5) comprises a through opening (51) formed therein for filling the spacer frame with fire-resistant agent. The front side (6) of the corner element (5) is formed as an arc surface with radius R, where a chamfer (52) is made at the envelope of the opening (51).The rear side of the corner element (5) has a third diagonal wall (123) separating the first wall and the second wall. In addition, diagonal chamfers (15) are formed at the junction of the first wall with the adjacent first end face (141) of the corner element (5) and at the junction of the second wall with the adjacent second end face (142) of the corner element (5).
