Abstract

The subject of the application is a base for moldings, especially cover moldings, skirting moldings and wall moldings. A mounting base (1) for a cover molding comprising a bent, longitudinal mounting rail, consisting of a vertical wall (2) and a lower bend (3) in the form of a foot, wherein the vertical wall (2) of the mounting rail comprises at least one forwardly projecting mounting arm (4) that is clampably inserted into the cover molding, wherein the upper mounting arm (4) comprises ribs along the entire length of the mounting rail, and the lower mounting arm (4a) of the mounting rail comprises a clamping arm (6) extending along the entire length, characterized in that the lower foot of the lower cutout (3) comprises a catch (7) parallel to the plane of the vertical wall (2) of the mounting rail.
