Double spindle circular saw

Abstract

The subject of the application is a two-spindle multi-blade circular saw designed for longitudinal sawing of wooden prisms into elements such as boards or strips. The purpose of the application is to develop a two-spindle circular saw that will reduce the saw's downtime during changes in the position of the lower headstock and the upper headstock when changing the thickness of the prism being sawed. The two-spindle circular saw is characterized in that the cutting module is a kinematic chain that has: a displacement unit (2), a mechanism for positioning (3) both the headstock (4) and the upper headstock (5), an upper displacement unit (6), an upper adjustment mechanism (7), a body (11), a safety unit (8), and an upper safety unit (9). The adjustment mechanism (3) is connected by a pin (12) to the displacement unit (2) and a connector (13) to the upper adjustment mechanism (7) and the upper adjustment unit (6).The saw has a simple design of the cutting module, which allows it to be manufactured at low costs, and the design of the setting mechanisms ensures optimal selection of the spindle position to the thickness of the separated prisms and the diameters and number of circular saw blades, and also allows for increased efficiency of prism sawing by shortening the downtime when changing the spindle position.
