Abstract

The subject of the application is an artificial climbing wall and a method for controlling the climbing wall. The artificial climbing wall is characterized in that openings in the climbing wall plate (1) contain extendable grips (2) attached to actuators (3) mounted on the rear of the climbing wall plate (1) and connected to a controller (4). The openings on the front side of the climbing wall plate (1) are covered with a stretchable membrane (5). Preferably, pressure sensors (6) connected to the controller (4) are located in the grips (2).The method of controlling an artificial climbing wall involves measuring the maximum reach of the climber's arms and legs, determining their level of physical fitness, and selecting the difficulty level of the climbing route. This data is then entered into a computing module, which, based on this data, determines the schedule for extending holds (2) and sends appropriate signals to the controller (4), which, via actuators (3), extends holds (2). Additionally, after extending a given hold (2) along with the stretchable membrane (5) and after receiving information from the pressure sensor (6) about the load on that hold (2), the controller (4) sends a signal to the actuator (3), which extends the next selected hold (2) along the climbing route along with the stretchable membrane (5).Optionally, after receiving information from the pressure sensor (6) about the cessation of loading of a given grip (2) and after extending the next grip (2) located on the climbing path together with the stretchable membrane (5), the controller (4) via the actuator (3) retracts the given grip (2) together with the stretchable membrane (5).
