New strain of thermophilic bacteria, its application and method of isolation and selection of thermophilic bacteria

Abstract

The subject of the application is a new strain of thermophilic bacteria identified as Geobacillus thermoleovorans KJ-NI-1, deposited in the Collection of Industrial Microbial Cultures of the Microbiological Resource Center maintained by the Institute of Agricultural and Food Biotechnology - National Research Institute named after Prof. Wacław Dąbrowski in Warsaw under the number KKP 2101p. Furthermore, the subject of the application is the use of the new strain of thermophilic bacteria Geobacillus thermoleovorans KJ-NI-1 for compost bioaugumentation. The subject of the application also concerns a method for isolating and selecting a thermophilic microorganism from compost that accelerates the biodegradation of polymeric materials under thermophilic conditions.
