Abstract

The subject of the application is a method of manufacturing aligners, in which each orthodontic corrective overlay is manufactured by vacuum thermoforming using a sheet of single- or multi-layer foil forming the overlay on a model of a tooth or dental arch, which involves heating the overlay obtained from thermoforming at a temperature of 90°C to 120°C for a time of 0.8 to 1 hour, after which the overlay is transferred to an automatic trimmer, where it is cut / shortened to the indicated parameters. The above-mentioned manufacturing method can be carried out in a modified order, where the overlay produced from thermoforming is transferred to an automatic trimmer, where it is cut / shortened to the indicated parameters, after which the overlay is heated at a temperature of 90°C to 120°C for a time of 0.8 to 1 hour. After heating, the aligners are conditioned by allowing them to cool completely under normal conditions for up to 24 hours.The method of manufacturing aligners carried out in order to reduce the mechanical properties consists in that immediately after heating or after the cutting operation after heating, the aligners are rapidly cooled by immersion in liquid nitrogen.
