Abstract
A hybrid rotary shaft seal comprising multi-edge pole pieces, axially polarized annular permanent magnets, magnetic fluid, support rings, slip rings, springs and a cover, in which multi-edge pole pieces (3) in the shape of flanged sleeves separated by a first permanent magnet (4) are mounted in a housing (2), and the side surfaces of the pole piece flanges (3) are covered with sliding coatings (10), while the support rings (5) separated by a second permanent magnet (6) are mounted on a journal (1a) of the rotary shaft (1) and have seats in the form of annular recesses (5b) in which slip rings (8) with springs (9) are placed, and the magnetic fluid (7) is located in annular gaps (δ) formed between the sealing projections of the multi-edge pole pieces (3) made on the inner cylindrical surfaces of their flanges (3a),and the corresponding outer cylindrical surfaces of the recesses (5a) in the support rings (5), wherein the flanges (3a) of the multi-edge pole pieces (3) are placed with clearance in the recesses (5a) of the support rings, and the first permanent magnet (4) mounted in the housing (2) is arranged in the NS pole arrangement, and the second permanent magnet (6) mounted on the journal (1a) of the rotary shaft (1) is arranged in the SN pole arrangement in relation to the side surface of the cover (13). The subject of the application is also a seal in which the permanent magnets are arranged in the opposite way.
