Abstract

The invention relates to a method for neutralizing and purifying wastewater generated in the production of organic peroxides, in particular ketone organic peroxides. It involves adding water-soluble iron (II) and / or (III) compounds to wastewater with a pH in the range of 2+ / -1.5, in amounts in which the weight or molar ratio of peroxides to iron ions is from 1:50 to 1:500, preferably 1:200+ / -100, at a temperature of 60°C-90°C, preferably 70°C-80°C, and then treating the resulting mixture with calcium compounds in the form of calcium oxide, hydroxide, or carbonate to neutralize and remove iron ions, sulfates, and phosphates.
