Method for producing polyols

Abstract

The subject of the application is a method for producing polyols, which is carried out by placing 40 parts by weight of organosolv lignin, 80 to 160 parts by weight of glycerol, and 320 to 480 parts by weight of ethylene carbonate or propylene carbonate in a reactor. The reactor contents are mixed and simultaneously heated to a temperature of 80°C, and then maintained at this temperature with stirring until the lignin dissolves. Then, 3.0 to 6.0 parts by weight of catalyst is introduced into the reactor, and the system is heated to a temperature in the range of 150°C to 160°C with stirring, and maintained at this temperature with stirring until the reaction is complete.
