Abstract

The subject of the application is a Möbius strip model applicable for educational purposes, particularly in open education facilities such as experimentariums, explorers, and experiment gardens. The Möbius strip model comprises a strip (1), twisted once by 180° along the strip (1) with one apparent side change point (2), and made of non-ferromagnetic sheet metal. The ends of the strip (1) are connected by bringing them together and butt-welding, and the weld is ground to the thickness of the strip (1). The strip (1) is covered along its entire length with a soft part of a hook-and-loop tape (3), glued to the strip (1) with polyurethane adhesive. The ends of the soft part of the hook-and-loop tape (3) butt-joint. The strip (1) is placed in a plane diagonal to the base (4), which has the shape of a rectangular plate, oriented horizontally and made of a non-ferromagnetic material.The belt (1) is connected to the base (4) by two vertically oriented brackets (5, 6) in the shape of rectangular bars, with the lower ends of the brackets (5, 6) being press-fitted into holes cut in the base (4), while the upper ends of the brackets (5, 6) are connected to the lower edge of the belt (1) using epoxy glue. The brackets (5, 6) are made of a non-ferromagnetic material. A cylindrical rolling marker (7) adheres to the surface of the belt (1).
