Granulate containing sodium butyrate compound, its forms and applications

Abstract

The subject of the application is a granulate containing a butyrate compound in an acylglycerol matrix, characterized in that it contains a butyrate compound, preferably sodium butyrate or tributyrin, in an amount from 40% to 86% by weight of the total weight of the granulate; acylglycerols in an amount from 14% to 58% by weight of the total weight of the granulate, being a mixture of diacylglycerols and monoacylglycerols; and pharmaceutically acceptable excipients in an amount from 0% to 10% by weight of the total weight of the granulate. The subject of the application also is a unit oral dosage form characterized in that it is filled with or manufactured based on the above granulate. The application also covers the use of the granulate in question for the treatment of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth syndrome.
