Abstract

Hydrogel film based on hydroxypropyl starch is characterized in that it is a product obtained from an aqueous solution of hydroxypropyl starch and poly(acrylic acid), wherein the hydroxypropyl starch content is 50%-90% by weight based on the weight of the polymers. The method for obtaining a hydrogel film based on hydroxypropyl starch involves dissolving the hydroxypropyl starch in water, and then adding a plasticizer in the form of glycerin to obtain a homogeneous system. Hydrogel film is characterized in that the hydroxypropyl starch is dissolved in water in an amount of 50%-90% by weight based on the weight of the polymers, and acrylic acid, an initiator, and the first crosslinking agent in the form of a bisacrylamide derivative are added to the homogeneous system. The resulting reaction mixture is heated in an inert atmosphere to 70°C and stirred for at least 1.5 hours.A second crosslinking agent, a polycarboxylic organic acid, is then added and mixed for at least 0.5 hour. The resulting aqueous system is poured into a mold and dried at a temperature of 50°C to 100°C for 6 to 48 hours.
