Abstract

The subject of the application is a method for obtaining a polyimide membrane modified with iron oxides. The method involves dissolving polyamic acid PMDA-ODA or PMDA-MDA in an organic solvent so that the concentration of polyamic acid is from 5% by weight to 20% by weight, the process is carried out at a temperature of from 40°C to 80°C, and then adding a filler in the form of iron (III) oxide Fe2O3 or iron (II,III) oxide Fe3O4 in an amount of from 0.5% by weight to 20% by weight., polyamic acid, then the suspension thus obtained is mixed at a temperature of 40°C to 80°C, subjected to ultrasound treatment and mixed again at a temperature of 40°C to 80°C, poured onto a plate using a film applicator adjusted to a film coating thickness of 200 µm to 400 µm and dried at a temperature of 80°C to 100°C for 1 h to 5 h, then subjected to thermal imidization at a temperature of 200°C to 400°C for 2 h to 4 h, cooled at room temperature, then placed in a bath with distilled water at room temperature, detached from the glass plate, dried, interleaved with cellulose paper, the membrane thus obtained is placed in a permeation chamber and subjected to transport tests against nitrogen and carbon dioxide at a pressure of 1 bar to 30 bar. The application also covers the use of a polyimide membrane obtained by the above method.
