Method for obtaining bioactive and biodegradable textiles with detection functionality

Abstract

The subject of the application is a method for obtaining bioactive and biodegradable textiles exhibiting diagnostic functionality, i.e., the ability to colorimetrically detect pH changes and monitor biodegradation progress in real time, which involves preparing an aqueous solution of citric acid, chitosan, and an organic-inorganic pH indicator, containing in mass percentages: 2.5% - 15% citric acid, 0.85% - 6.8% chitosan, and 0.01% - 0.17% organic-inorganic pH indicator. First, an aqueous solution of citric acid is prepared at room temperature and after heating this solution to 70°C, chitosan is added while stirring. After 30 minutes of stirring while maintaining the temperature at 70°C, an organic-inorganic pH indicator is added and stirring continued for another 30 minutes. The aqueous solution thus obtained is applied to the textile material, which is then dried.
