Biodegradable polymer composition with the ability to colorimetrically monitor pH changes

Abstract

The subject of the application is a biodegradable polymer composition demonstrating the ability to colorimetrically monitor pH changes, based on polylactide, which contains, in addition to polylactide, a plasticizer in the form of glycerin and an organic-inorganic pH indicator in the form of alizarin or hematoxylin deposited on an inorganic support in the form of palygorskite or vermiculite. The composition contains, per 100 parts by weight of polylactide, 10 parts by weight of glycerin and 3-10 parts by weight of a pH indicator containing 10% by weight of a dye relative to the weight of the support.
