Method for assessing cattle conformation

Abstract

A method for assessing the conformation of cattle, particularly the Polish Red breed, is disclosed. This method involves measuring specific anatomical points of the cattle, determining the distances that are then analyzed. The method comprises steps in which the cattle are measured and assessed according to a specific 10-point scale. The method comprises steps in which the following are measured and assessed: the height of the cattle from the depth of the chest from the top of the back behind the shoulder to the bottom of the abdomen behind the forelegs; the length of the cattle's back from the shoulder to the hip joints; the width of the cattle's back behind the shoulder blades; the curvature of the cattle's thigh beyond the vertical line between the ischial tuberosity and the hock joint in a lateral view; and the assessment of body condition.
