Impact energy absorbing device for a vehicle

Abstract

The subject of the application is an impact energy absorption device for a vehicle comprising at least two energy absorption elements (1) for attachment to the vehicle frame, and a movable bumper beam (2) attached thereto having at least two connecting elements (2a). The device is characterized in that the bumper beam (2) is attached to the energy absorption elements (1) by means of pins (3) connecting the energy absorption elements (1) and the respective beam connecting elements (2a) and is pivotally movable between a substantially horizontal operating position and a substantially vertical coupling position.
