Potentiometer knob transmission for an effects device

Abstract

The potentiometer knob gear of the "effect" device, i.e., the control knob on a musical instrument's effect pedal, has a worm gear consisting of: a worm wheel (1), which has teeth on its outer surface, and a control worm wheel (3), which has a thread on its outer surface that fits into the teeth of the worm wheel (1). Both of these elements are positioned at right angles to each other. At least one end of the control worm wheel (3) is a regulator (4) designed for foot control. The worm wheel (1) and the central section of the control worm wheel (3) are releasably mounted inside the housing (5), while the regulator (4) is located outside the housing (5).
