Heat exchanger in an LNG regasification installation

Abstract

The heat exchanger in the LNG regasification system is a body containing the outer tank shell (1), inside which is located the liquid LNG circuit and the heating medium circuit. The LNG circuit and the heating medium circuit contain independent inlet and outlet connections for natural gas and the heating medium. Inside the outer tank shell (1) is the inner tank shell (2), which is supplied with the heating medium through the heating medium inlet (3). The inner tank shell (2) contains a check valve (5) in its bottom, and an LNG flow line (7) is located between the outer tank shell (1) and the inner tank shell (2). The LNG inlet (9) to the LNG flow line (7) is located on the side where the heating medium inlet (3) enters the inner tank shell (2). The regasified natural gas outlet (8) from the LNG line (7) is located on the side where the heating medium exits the outer tank shell (1).The LNG line (7) between the outer tank shell (1) and the inner tank shell (2) is a spiral wound around the inner tank shell (2). The inner tank shell (2), adjacent to the heating medium inlet (3), has overflow openings (6) for the heating medium into the space between the outer tank shell (1) and the inner tank shell (2).
