Abstract

The subject of the application is a method of connecting panels of a protective mat, particularly one used in underground mining excavations, and panels of the protective mat for using this method. The method of connecting panels of a protective mat, particularly one used in underground mining excavations, is characterized in that in the first step, two panels (1, 2) of the protective mat to be connected are superimposed with the edges of the lower panel (1) and (2.1) of the upper panel (2). Next, one end of the connecting wire is threaded from above through the first opening (3), and the other end of the connecting wire is threaded from below through the second opening (4) and tied in a knot. Now, one end of the connecting wire is threaded from above through the third opening (5) and from below through the first opening (3) and tied in a knot, and the other end of the connecting wire is threaded from above through the fourth opening (6) and from below through the second opening (4) and tied in a knot.Then, one end of the connecting wire is threaded through the fifth hole (7) from the top and the third hole (5) from the bottom and a knot is tied. The other end of the connecting wire is threaded through the sixth hole (8) from the top and the fourth hole (6) from the bottom and a knot is tied. In the next step, one end of the connecting wire is threaded through the seventh hole (9) from the top and the fifth hole (7) from the bottom and a knot is tied. The other end of the connecting wire is threaded through the eighth hole (10) from the top and the sixth hole (8) from the bottom and a knot is tied. Then, one end of the connecting wire is threaded through the ninth hole (11) from the top and the seventh hole (9) from the bottom and a knot is tied. The other end of the connecting wire is threaded through the tenth hole (12) from the top and the eighth hole (10) from the bottom and a knot is tied.Next, one end of the connecting wire is threaded through the eleventh hole (13) from below and the ninth hole (11) from below, and a knot is tied. The other end of the connecting wire is threaded through the twelfth hole (14) from above and the tenth hole (12) from below, and a knot is tied. Finally, one end of the connecting wire is threaded through the twelfth hole (14) from above and the eleventh hole (13) from below, and the other end of the connecting wire is threaded through the eleventh hole (13) from above and the twelfth hole (14) from below, and a knot is tied. The presented connecting cycle of the lower (1) and upper (2) protective mat panels is repeated many times in the transverse direction of the panels, until all available common holes are used, with the end knot of one cycle becoming the starting knot of the next cycle.
