Abstract

This flame-retardant, layered textile material consists of two layers: a polyester fabric layer and a hydro-punctured viscose nonwoven fabric layer, bonded together by a solidified layer of a molten mixture of expanded graphite powder and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer. The method for preparing this textile material involves placing a mixture of expanded graphite powder and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer powder between the polyester fabric layer and the hydro-punctured viscose nonwoven fabric layer and exposing it to infrared radiation, followed by calendering until, after the molten layer has solidified, a polyester fabric-nonwoven fabric system is obtained, bonded together by a solidified layer of a molten mixture of expanded graphite and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer.
