Abstract

The subject of the application is a device for cutting plastics, in particular expanded polystyrene, comprising a worktop (1), to one side of which a working arm (2) is pivotally attached, wherein a cutting wire (16) is stretched between the ends of the working arm (2) proximal to the worktop (1), wherein the working arm (2) is connected to the worktop (1) by means of guide assemblies (7), so that the working arm (2) is capable of being moved relative to the worktop (1), wherein the guide assembly (7) comprises at least two guides (18), wherein each guide (18) comprises a fixed member (20), being a profile formed by a bottom wall (22) and two side walls (23) and a movable member (21) movable relative to it, being a profile formed by a top wall (24) and two side walls (25), and at least two guides (18) are connected to each other by fixed members (20),movable members (21) or a fixed member (20) of one guide (18) and a movable member of the other guide (18), forming a stack-type structure,
