Method for reinforcing surfaces made of block elements joined with jointing mortar

Abstract

The subject of the application is a method of strengthening, in particular repairing, surfaces made of block elements joined with joint mortar, characterized in that the following steps are performed: cleaning the block surface with water to remove dust and reduce water absorption into the interior of the blocks and the joint mortar, applying to the block surface a bottom layer of repair mortar with a compressive strength of 10 to 120 N / mm2 and a thickness of 2 to 10 mm above the level of the blocks, applying to the block surface a composite reinforcing mesh with a tensile strength in the range of 1700-6000 N / mm2 and pressing it, covering the surface of the composite reinforcing mesh with a top layer of repair mortar, preferably so that the repair mortar is at least 5 mm thicker than the outer surface of the composite reinforcing mesh applied to the bottom layer of repair mortar.
