Abstract
The subject of the application is a method for producing aqueous-ethanol nanocarriers—ethosomes—from oilseed plants using water and ethanol. The method is characterized in that the ethosomes are produced in two stages: the first is a direct, single-stage hot solvent extraction, in which the extract is obtained using only an aqueous solution of ethanol and ground plant material in the form of a press cake. The second stage involves adding the extract dropwise to water only. In the first stage, the press cake is dried at a temperature no higher than 70°C for a period of 5 to 24 hours to obtain a product with a dry matter content ranging from 92% to 95% by weight of moisture. The press cake is then ground for 5 to 20 minutes in a grinding process. During grinding, the press cake is at a temperature no higher than 70°C.The resulting cake is added at room temperature to an aqueous ethanol solution containing 90%-100% ethanol by weight, in a weight ratio of 1:1 to 1:9 cake:ethanol aqueous solution. The cake and ethanol solution are then stirred at 100-400 rpm while heating to a temperature of 40°C to 70°C. This stable temperature is then maintained for 30 to 120 minutes, after which the filtrate is separated from the cake particles, obtaining the cake extract. In the second step, the extract is added dropwise to intensively stirred water at 200-500 rpm, both (extract and water) at a temperature of 40°C to 70°C, in a weight ratio of 2:98 to 40:60 extract:water. The system is then vigorously mixed to homogenize and stabilize for 2 to 10 minutes. The system is then cooled to room temperature, yielding ethosomal nanoparticles with an average size and a distribution in the 100-600 nm range.
