Abstract
A tangential-rotary cutter with improved operational properties for cutting rocks, equipped with an annular blade made of sintered carbides, mounted with an interference fit on the tip of the cutter shank and a cover connected to the cutter shank by a circumferential weld, helical cooling grooves, helical grooves and a circumferential channel, characterized in that the cutter shank (3) is loosely mounted in the cutter holder socket (4) with the possibility of longitudinal movement within the clearance L on the mounting ring (6), wherein the range of longitudinal clearance L is from 10% to 18% of the diameter of the cutter shank (3), which has a biconical surface cooperating with the biconical surface (4b and 4c) of the cutter holder (4) and a circumferential water channel connected by 2 to 4 oblique holes with cooling grooves (3d) in the number from 4 to 8, made in the tip (3f) of the cutter shank (3) via a circumferential channel (1a) at the base of the ring blade (1), by chamfering the inner edge of the ring blade (1) at its base. The method of realizing the rotation of the tangential-rotary knife consists in that the rotation of the knife is generated by an increase in the water pressure in the space combined with the automatic closing of the check valve, which flows through the spiral grooves (3a) of the knife shank (3) causing a reaction torque to rotate the knife around the axis, whereby the longitudinal clearance L is exhausted and the knife shank (3) rests on the biconical support surfaces of the knife holder (4), while the cooling water flows under pressure through the channels (4a), the circumferential channel (3b) and the holes to the cooling grooves (3d) of the blade.
