Polymer gels based on poly(glycerol adipate) and a method for their preparation

Abstract

The application discloses polymer gels in the form of polyester urethanes based on poly(glycerol adipate) for use in tissue engineering as matrices for soft tissue implants, characterized in that the continuous phase is an organic solvent in the form of tetrahydrofuran or dioxane, and the polymer network is obtained by modifying a poly(glycerol adipate) prepolymer with L-lysine diisocyanate ethyl ester, wherein the molar ratio of the hydroxyl groups of the poly(glycerol adipate) prepolymer to the isocyanate groups in the L-lysine diisocyanate ethyl ester is from 1:0.25 to 1:1.The application also discloses a method for obtaining a gel in the form of a polyester urethane based on poly(glycerol adipate), in which the continuous phase is an organic solvent in the form of tetrahydrofuran or dioxane, and the polymer network is obtained by crosslinking a poly(glycerol adipate) prepolymer with L-lysine diisocyanate ethyl ester, wherein the molar ratio of the hydroxyl groups of the poly(glycerol adipate) prepolymer to the isocyanate groups in L-lysine diisocyanate ethyl ester is from 1:0.25 to 1:1, consisting in carrying out a modification reaction of the poly(glycerol adipate) prepolymer with L-lysine diisocyanate ethyl ester in tetrahydrofuran or dioxane, wherein the modification step is carried out in a solution of the poly(glycerol adipate) prepolymer with a concentration of 0.15g / L in an organic solvent, while gelation is carried out at room temperature for 24 hours.
