Abstract

This application concerns a system and method for shaping the damping in the feedback loop of a second-order integrator used in a two-setpoint resonant controller. The solution utilizes information about the controller's internal state to calculate the damping coefficient. The controller comprises two integrators (101, 102), adders (105, 108), and amplifier blocks (106, 107), which are responsible for two controller settings, as well as an amplitude detection circuit (103) and a damping shaping circuit (104). Amplitude detection is based on signals collected before and after the first integrator (101). The calculated amplitude is used to generate a damping signal, which is fed to the controller's input adder (105). The solution enables dynamic damping adjustment depending on the controller's state, improving the system's efficiency and stability.
