Flexible antibacterial sealing material for implant abutments with extended-lasting action

Abstract

The subject of the application is a flexible, antibacterial sealant for implant bridges with a prolonged effect and a method of using the material. The flexible medical material for use between an implant bridge and the gingiva comprises: a silicone elastomer (PDMS), silver or ZnO nanoparticles, microcapsules with a controlled-release antibacterial substance, microfillers (ZrO2), fluoropolymers, and a silane-based adhesive. It is characterized by biological and mechanical durability of ≥6 months in situ.
