Solar-powered air purification tower

Abstract

The subject of the application is an air purification tower powered by solar energy for removing dust and gaseous pollutants from the air, in particular in urban or industrial spaces, equipped with a body of a polygonal or cylindrical shape, a controller, and a filtering unit, characterized in that the body (1) of the tower consists of successively stacked modules, the first module of which is the tower base (2) located on the ground and equipped with a control unit and an energy storage system (3) in the form of batteries; on the tower base (2) there is located a mechanical ventilation module (4) equipped with exhaust fans (5) for directing polluted air to a filtration system which consists of activated carbon filters (7) and HEPA filters (8) located above the activated carbon filters (7) and connected to an outlet duct (10) equipped with a photocatalytic filter (11);a power source and a sun tracking system are mounted on the top of the body (1) and consist of a movable support frame (13) and a set of photometric sensors (22) connected to a control unit (3), wherein the power source consists of photovoltaic panels (12) mounted on the movable support frame (13), and said movable support frame (13) is pivotally mounted on a turntable (19) provided with a rotation mechanism in the horizontal axis (20) and a tilt mechanism in the vertical axis (21), wherein the rotation mechanism in the horizontal axis (20) consists of a stepper motor with a trapezoidal screw or a linear actuator pivotally connected to the turntable (19), and the tilt mechanism in the vertical axis (21) consists of a stepper motor connected to a trapezoidal screw or a linear actuator mounted between the support frame (13) and the turntable (19);
